Exhibition change to 21/11

Special opening hours and reduced admission

In connection with the exhibition change and hanging of the upcoming special exhibition "Mnemosea. Marie Kølbæk Iversen x Willumsens Museum", there will be special opening hours and reduced admission during the upcoming period.

8/10-1/11: Regular opening hours and regular admission. Works by Willumsen will be displayed throughout the museum.

2/11-20/11: Regular opening hours but reduced admission. The newly curated collection exhibition with works by Willumsen will be shown in the museum's white wing.

21/11: The special exhibition “Mnemosea. Marie Kølbæk Iversen x Willumsens Museum” opens in the yellow wing. The completely newly curated collection exhibition with works by Willumsen is shown in the museum's white wing.

From early children's drawings to late masterpieces

How does an artistic life's work come about? Jens Ferdinand Willumsen (1863-1958) spent almost a century challenging himself, his contemporaries, and art.

From Copenhagen to Paris, Spain, Italy and the South of France, he sought new impressions, new techniques and new ways of creating. As a painter, sculptor, ceramist, photographer and architect, he moved across artistic boundaries in search of a personal expression.

In this collection, you will not only meet the finished artist, but also the searching person behind the works. From the first experiments to the late masterpieces, the story is told of an artist who never stopped exploring what art could be.

At Willumsens Museum we would like to create an open and safe environment for parents with babies.
Parents and children are always welcome at the museum, but we have set aside an hour every Friday and an area of the café especially for you on maternity leave, so there is room for you and everything that comes with having a little one.

Breathing and Visual Arts: Morning Yoga

Take a break from everyday life and find peace in beautiful surroundings at Willumsens Museum. We invite you to an hour of gentle morning yoga. An experience where body and mind are allowed to land in the middle of the inspiring universe of art. Everyone can join, regardless of experience. The yoga is led by Louise from Lo-Yoga. She gently guides you through calm movements and breathing that provide energy and well-being.

Welcome to Café Ærligt at Willumsens Museum. You are welcome to visit the café without purchasing a ticket for the exhibitions. It can get busy around lunchtime. If you want to avoid waiting, it is a good idea to order before you go to the museum. Then the food will be ready for you when you return. If you are coming with a larger group, you can book a table in advance.
