Willumsens Museum's art school is open to anyone who wants to play with many different materials - and become more skilled at expressing themselves creatively. We examine works of art and materials together, and practice along the way. In the art school we will work with many different forms of expression and projects within, among others, drawing, painting, sculpture, printing, photography, etc. The teaching takes place at Willumsens Museum, and we will be inspired by Willumsen's artistic work and involve the museum's special exhibitions and other artists.
The Art School at Willumsens Museum
Every year we look forward to a new season at the art school. But this year is still a bit special. The art school starts in Jægerspris in week 5, but during March we move back to the newly built Willumsens Museum. Yay, we are looking forward to getting back to the brand new workshop and close to Willumsens' works again
This year we are starting teams for grades 0-2, grades 2-4 and grades 4-7. Grades 0-2 and 2-4 are taught on Wednesdays from 4-16 p.m. Grades 18-7 are taught on Mondays from 16-18 p.m. If your child is in 2nd or 4th grade, you can together assess which team suits you best.
In the art school, we will immerse ourselves in the world of art together through creative experiments with prints, sculpture, linocut printing, color theory, drawing techniques and much more. Although we will initially be based in Jægerspris, the teaching will still be based on the museum's many works, so that the children will have a close connection to Willumsen's universe.
We can guarantee that it will be the most inspiring art school of the winter and spring - in any case, it will be a few colorful and educational weeks, where we will frolic together in the many nooks and crannies of art.
We have room for 12 students in each class, and the season lasts 12 weeks. There are no classes during school holidays and public holidays.
