Elke Krystufek. Not Exactly an Expressionist

In connection with the COVID-19 situation, which has created new guidelines for museum visits, the museum has developed a virtual exhibition format that does not require physical presence at the museum but can be experienced directly from a screen at home in the living room or from a mobile device in the company of family and friends – 24/7. The project is supported by Augustinus Fonden.

The virtual exhibition “WTF Willumsen” is curated by visual artist Stense Andrea Lind-Valdan, who has taken JF Willumsen under loving care and looked more closely at the vulnerability, corporeality and carnality found in his works and in his self-conscious self-staging. With a feminist perspective and a predominance of female artists, Willumsen’s works are challenged and examined in the virtual exhibition.

Catalogue

WTF Willumsen is unfortunately no longer available online, but you can read about it in the catalogue that was published for the exhibition. In the catalogue you can read curator Stense Andrea Lind-Valdan's presentation of the exhibition concept and associate professor of art history Rune Gade's texts for the exhibition.
