Four women in front of Willumsen's large marble relief

Would you like to volunteer at Willumsens Museum?

At Willumsens Museum, there is a very special atmosphere that our guests experience. This can be attributed both to our front-line staff who welcome the guests, and to our volunteer staff who meet them in the halls.

Our volunteer team is involved in everyday tasks, where the primary task is to take care of the art. and has a number of functions in connection with our many events at the museum.
As a volunteer, you are part of a community that makes Willumsen a museum of international stature. But also a locally rooted and present museum, run by committed people who care about each other.
We have a joint summer excursion and a joint Christmas lunch for everyone at the museum.

If you have stopped working or otherwise have a flexible everyday life and you have the time and desire to be part of our community at Willumsens Museum, we could use your help.

Read what our volunteers say about helping at the museum:

I always look forward to my shifts at Willumsens Museum. To the tour around the museum, to helping and serving our guests and to looking at great art.

I enjoy being part of a strong cultural offering and together with colleagues and friends we form a strong community for the arts in Frederikssund.

Voluntary

When I retired in 2023, I volunteered at Willumsens Museum, without knowing exactly what that entailed.

But I have always loved museums, especially art museums, and I think it would be a good way to combine an interest and at the same time contribute with volunteer work.

It's a decision I've been happy with from day one. As a volunteer at the museum, I've met a lot of new, sweet and welcoming colleagues – both other volunteers and employees, experienced the changing, exciting exhibitions, participated in several different events such as tours, lectures, theater and staff excursions. Together with orientation meetings where all volunteers gather, it helps me to always feel prepared for the volunteer work and the contact with the museum's guests.

It's really nice that the working hours (about 3-4 shifts per month) are organized so flexibly that all my other activities can also be easily taken care of.
