Telling in pictures

At Willumsens Museum you can encounter an impressive collection of artworks. But what do the artworks actually want to tell us? How do they speak to us and how can we best listen? With a playful and curious approach, we explore and investigate what art has at its heart and what expressions it uses to reach us.
Basic course (1 hour)
What can works of art tell us and how can we explore art? We begin in the museum's exhibitions, where we get up close and personal with art through a selection of works. We examine colors and shapes and look at what the works of art can tell us, what materials are used, how they are processed and designed, and how they differ from each other. Along the way, the students have the opportunity to try their hand at small practical exercises.

In the workshop (+1 hour)
In the workshop, students have the opportunity to expand their experiences through a practical assignment. Based on the small working sketches collected during the visit to the exhibition, we continue working on an artistic production in the workshop, where the subject and experiences are processed and creatively translated.
For the youngest preschoolers, we offer the learning material, Sense Language. The material can be used as an extension of a visit to the museum and focuses on sensory language stimulation and contains pre- and post-tasks.
