Drawing process
From 2nd grade – 75 minutes.
At Willumsens Museum you can encounter an impressive collection of artworks. But what do the artworks actually want to tell us? How do they speak to us and how can we best listen? With a playful and curious approach, we explore and investigate what art has at its heart and what expressions it uses to reach us.
Progress
Once a motif or a section of the world has been sketched, it has suddenly become an independent image and has become embedded in the memory in a different way. But drawing requires practice, immersion and many attempts – including many failed attempts.
In this course, we give drawing extra focus and time. The course takes place in the museum's exhibitions, where we stop in front of a few selected works and approach them through drawing. The students will be introduced to different drawing techniques adapted to their age. There will be both short and longer drawing exercises. We try different drawing tools and give time for immersion and experimentation with the expression and possibilities of drawing. The course is built around practical exercises, creating a framework for immersion and for encountering art and the museum's space in a different way than through speech and words.
